How long does new asphalt take to cure?
New asphalt is usually ready for foot traffic within 24 hours and vehicles within 48 to 72 hours. Full curing can take up to 30 days, so avoid heavy loads and sharp turns during that time.
How thick should my driveway or parking lot be?
For residential driveways we typically recommend 2 to 3 inches over a compacted base. Commercial lots and heavy truck areas usually need 3 to 4 inches or more, depending on soil, load and drainage.
What is the difference between asphalt paving and chip seal?
Asphalt is a smooth hot-mix surface for driveways, parking lots and busy roads. Chip seal combines liquid asphalt with crushed stone and costs less, which suits ranch roads and rural driveways. We help you choose.
